Florence
Florence
You want to talk favorite cities? Florence is at the top of the list. I love that place. The food, the walkability (even when you get lost in the rain because you can't see any of the landmarks)
There is a sense of....warm familiarity that the city holds for me. I like it. A lot. It is a place I never regret going to and always want to stay longer. Like Venice, Florence is one of those towns I will always want to wander in. Going down random streets and alleys, turn here, turn there, look up and catch glimpses of the Duomo. Fine art, excellent food, a place to grab a glass of wine by the river and just rest. Eat some fruit on my way to a museum.
This photo was one I had researched. It had actually sparked a theme for the whole 3 week trip. That theme was #roamingrooftops2019. I had wanted to climb at least one building in all the cities we were visiting. Of the 5 cities we went to, Florence was the only place I actually managed to climb anything. And even then, we didn’t get to climb the whole tower in the city hall because the weather was so poor. I did manage to snag this beauty of one of my favorite churches, though.
